I am Julia Anderson, award-winning financial newspaper columnist, host of Smart Money on TVCTV public television in Beaverton, Ore. and founder and ongoing contributor at sixtyandsingle.com where I write for women about money, saving and investing and meeting life’s challenges. I am passionate about financial literacy and welcome the opportunity to share my experience, knowledge and passion with your group.
As part of the workshop, my book, “Smart Women Smart Money Smart Life,” will be available. The first five who sign up, get the book free. The rest may purchase it at a discounted of $12.99. Or we can arrange at additional cost to make the book available as part of the workshop for all.
WORKSHOP COST: $275.
Additional book cost: $12.99 per book
Why include the book?
While my book, Smart Money, Smart Women, Smart Life, is geared to women, it essentially is a book for everybody. I cover the basics of retirement planning, saving and investing. In 70 chapters, I deal with diverse topics such as selling a business, taking an early job buyout offer and ways to become a confident investor. Many of us find ourselves dealing with an aging parent and/or a troubled child or grandchild. The book gives you ways to cope.
It spells out how to prevent elder financial abuse and explains why men and women must plan differently for their later years because men, typically, die sooner than women. That means women will be financially on their own.
Smart Money Smart Women Smart Life gives people a blueprint for their financial future.
For most of my career in journalism, I reported and wrote about business and money issues. My financial columns won recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists. During my 26-year tenure as editor of The Columbian newspaper (Vancouver, Wa.) business section, it was named best in the U.S. for its size by the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing.
After leaving full-time journalism, I was a weekly business news commentator at KXL 101.1 FM radio in Portland, Ore. for eight years and wrote a financial column for the Portland Tribune. Now I am focused on financial literacy through my workshop, my blog and my book.
I am a long-time investor and continue to write about money matters here at www.sixtyandsingle.com.
