What people are saying about Smart Women Smart Money...
"I loved this book. It was as if Julia Anderson were talking directly to me about how I could gain confidence with managing money. She made me face some realities: Maybe no one really wants the antiques (i.e., brown furniture) I've so lovingly acquired over the years at auctions, antique stores and estate sales. How could that be? Ms. Anderson made me laugh and reflect.
I think part of the book's strength is that she is so brutally honest about herself. She shared stories about her ex-husband's new girlfriend who won't let him talk to her any more. She gives advice on when to talk Social Security and what to do with a windfall. She has statistics and research from myriad publications to back up her opinions.
And best of all, the reader can pick and choose which topics are the most applicable for immediate attention and which can be looked up later when the need arises. Thank you, Julia Anderson. -- J. Cleaveland fall 2019

2015

September 2015: Since women and financial literacy are my passion, I appreciated the recent opportunity to meet with women from Edward Jones to talk about what women are doing well and where they might need help in saving and investing for retirement.
I am the "Smart Money" columnist for the Portland Tribune's weekly business section. My topics: money, saving for retirement, investing and financial planning. Here's a link click here.
Keynoted the annual breakfast of the Community Housing Resource Center in Vancouver Washington in April. The housing resource center is a vital program in my community that helps low-income people build financial security in the face of credit rating challenges and financial hardship.
