September 2015: Since women and financial literacy are my passion, I appreciated the recent opportunity to meet with women from Edward Jones to talk about what women are doing well and where they might need help in saving and investing for retirement.

Keynoted the annual breakfast of the Community Housing Resource Center in Vancouver Washington in April. The housing resource center is a vital program in my community that helps low-income people build financial security in the face of credit rating challenges and financial hardship.

The Camas Public Library has invited me to present a Women & Retirement Workshop on April 11 at the library. This is my 5 Steps to a Successful Retirement program where I outline how to prepare for retirement, how to retire and how to keep on working in retirement. Dec. 1, 2011 Julia appeared as the "celebrity MC" for the annual brunch fundraiser for the Assistance League of Southwest Washington, which supports programs for families in poverty and kids in foster care. More than 300 women made it happen. Thanks Robert Knauer, Jr. for the event photo.

 - The Puget Sound Business Journal published my piece financial exploitation of the elderly. Cases in Washington state have increased 30 percent in the past five years.

June 14, 2011: Presented at a meeting of Washington Executive Women to discuss retirement planning and to catch up on our lives.
