Deborah Owens on "7 Wealth Habits for Women" coming Nov. 3

Women throughout the Portland-Vancouver area will get a chance on Nov. 3, 2010 to hear and meet national author and wealth coach, Deborah Owens. Owens will share her "7 Wealth Habits of Successful Women" at a fundraiser luncheon benefitting Vancouver-based Community Services Northwest. CSNW is a worthy regional organization helping some of the most vulnerable families in our area. By attending you do two things:
- Help other people especially women in our community and
- Hear Owens deliver an inspiring talk called "The Power of the Purse and the Wallop of the Wallet, too!"
The luncheon is set at the Hilton Vancouver Washington Hotel on Wednesday, Nov. 3. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased online at http://www.communityservicesnw.org/ or by calling 360-356-3920.
To find out more about Deborah Owens, who writes a column, appears on national television and has authored the book, "A Pursue of Your Own," go to http://www.deborahowens.com./
To hear Deborah's tips on retirement planning go to ABC News. For those who don't want to wait through a video ad about a bronchitis drug, here are the tips:
1. Actually calculate what your household budget will be in retirement by going to bankrate.com.
2. Learn the language of investing by forming a "purse club" of friends who meet regularly to talk about investing and retirement planning.
3. Start small by investing in a mutual fund that draws on the expertise of professional investment managers and diversifies the investment risk.
4. Select a financial adviser in whom you feel confident. Use the Financial Planning Association to choose a financial adviser or go to FINRA.org for background information. Or see my recent Questions to Ask on a recent posting at sixtyandsingle.com.
